Adoration

Commissioned by *ShebasDawn, who wanted me to paint her two Dalish characters, Galen and Kyhel, in a sensual scene beside a forest lake. Their story is as follows:

Galen is a blonde Dalish Elf Warden, and Kyhel, also Dalish, was his mate. Galen was born in the Denerim alienage, but ran away at the age of twelve to join the Dalish after his mother was murdered by the Denerim city guards. Kyhel was a hunter for his clan, and he taught Galen to hunt as well.

They fell in love and were joined in a Dalish bonding ceremony soon after Galen received his Vallaslin. The bond only lasted two years, as Kyhel died at Galen's side at the battle of Denerim, but they were the happiest two years of Galen’s life.

This scene takes place about a month before the battle. Galen later joined the Wardens, and dedicated his life to avenging Kyhel’s death.
